Firstly Happy New Year to you all. Time for another fascinating report. If you are one of my avid fans then you are aware even though I run the tournament I actually end up watching very little of the matches. Why I hear you ask? I am not totally sure but I am usually playing, chatting to people and generally making sure everyone is having a good time.
So like a good football reporter who needs to write 1000 words on a boring 0-0 I will try and pad this one out...
For the first time a team has won back to back TOTW award. Admittedly the team did first win the award last year but well done to Tokyo Hibernian. They won due to their efforts at the New Year 7s. They came out of the Group of Death undefeated and only conceded 3 goals in the knock out rounds to claim the first bit of Footy Japan silverware up for grabs.
Love them or hate them, Tokyo Hibernain FC are a very good team. They proved this once again this weekend with a 5-1 victory over their closest rivals over the last few seasons Swiss Kickers. At half time it was one all. Captain Kirk had scored for Hibs. His half time speech inspired a superb 2nd half display. Masa Egawa started it with a left footed screamer, an own goal and Kodai Stalph header from a corner made it 4, and then Egawa scored his second and hibs' 5th on a...
With 22 TML teams in action it was a tough choice for this weeks FJ TOTW.
The winning team remains unbeaten and have 6 W's on the Recent Form section of their team page . The impressive form has put them on top spot in Division 1. Well done to Panthers FC. After a tight first half v Sala FC,...
After a tough last few seasons battling survival in Division 1, SUNS FC are now finally finding some form following relegation at the end of last season.
Two early defeats at the start of the season was tough to take but with 3 wins and 1 draw in their last 4 TML matches things are looking up. The most impressive result so far saw Suns FC score 9 goals against...
The English Premier League witnessed one of it's craziest finishes over the weekend with Swansea and Crystal Palace scoring late goal after late goal. No quite as hectic or maybe even as defining was Albion Old Boys late comeback to stun FC Sagarmatha. AOB seemed destined to be on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat with 5 minutes left. Their hosts FC Sagarmatha had their chances to put the game to bed but the Old Boys used all their experience to score 2 late goals to secure...
Not often does a team concede 3 goals and can still win the FJ TOTW but the Saitama Jets have achieved this. Guts SC were sitting on top of the table after 5 straight victories. The Jets have had a mixed season with 2 victories and 2 loses. Buoyed by their good performance v Barbarians in the Cup the Jets went into the game confident. One player who is certainly confident is Chris Piper who scored a brace. 5 in 5 for him this season in the league. Captain John Rayner had...
